The position is also responsible for the effective utilization and development of all the people reporting into the site.
Specific Functions
- Champion the development, implementation, and improvement of an HSE, OM, Quality, and Monsanto Production System culture.
- Drive HSE & Quality operational improvements, metrics tracking and implementation of best practices through team members and peers.
- Manage and forecast station operational budget and capital purchases
- Collaborate with Pipeline Enrichment to understand grower contracting effort and budget requirements.
- Responsible for the planning and supervision of field and plant operations, including but not limited to:
- The operational, capital and maintenance budget.
- Harvesting schedule – established in coordination with the field operations team
- Logistics, warehousing of non-finished and finished goods in the plant responsible warehouses. This include on- and off site warehouses
- Optimize equipment efficiency uptime
- Maintain operational and site records as required by the Monsanto quality management systems with the focus on continual improvement.
- Ensure compliance with quality assurance standards and management system set by ISO9001
- Responsible to meet the goals established for seed supply reliability, quality and availability.
- Establish a team that meets production schedules that meet crop cycle timelines.
- Establish, assign and review the personnel goals in the field and plant operation teams.
- Identify personnel training needs and annually assess progress of people development, including a succession plan while maintaining continuous improvement culture
- Develop a risk mitigation strategy, including environmental analysis to ensure success
- Plan and execute the capital plan for the field and plant operations per the established long range plan

Qualifications
Required Education and Skills/Experience:
- Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Sciences, Agronomy, Plant Breeding, Production, Management, Engineering or related field.
- 10 years of working experience, 5 years hands-on experience in people management and more than 5 years’ operational experience in seed or related production
- Demonstrated aptitude for team leadership and project management
- Aptitude to lead by influence and establish strong partnerships
- Business strategy acumen and ability to build alignment across teams
- Ability to solve complex problems and lead with creative and effective solutions
- Documented individual leadership and excellent organizational skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, visualization software, and data management
- Strong written and oral communication, interpersonal and organizational skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams across multiple countries
- Ability to travel occasionally, including regional travel
