Traidcraft Exchange, a development charity organization focused bringing people together to use the power of trade to create sustainable solutions to poverty, in partnership with SHIVYAWATA (Tanzania Federation of Disabled Peoples Organizations) is implementing an agri-business development programme titled ’Promoting the Inclusion of People with Disabilities in Cocoa, Coffee and Palm Oil Value Chains ’in Five districts in Mbeya, Songwe, Morogoro and Dar es salaam regions of Tanzania.Traidcraft Exchange hasonevacancyforEnterprise Development Officer who will be based in Dar es salaam and assist in field operations in Dar es salaam and Kilombero district in Morogoro region. The position will be based in Traidcraft Office during the first few months of the project and later seconded to SHIVYWATA office. The position holders will have the responsibility of mobilizing and supporting people with disability to establish viable business enterprises along coffee and cocoa value chain,mobilising and supporting the establishment of economic groups (farmers with and without disability), facilitation of access to extension and other business development services including marketing, organising training for economic groups and building linkages with grassroots stakeholders.
Prospective candidates will have;
⦁ A university degree in entrepreneurship, business administration, agricultureor an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution
⦁ At least five years’ experience in implementing development projects especially in working with small and medium enterprises
⦁ 3 years hands on experience in business management, marketing of agriculture produce and farmer organisations
⦁ Experience in adult training approaches
⦁ Experience of working in the coffee or cocoa sector is an added advantage
⦁ Be willing to reside in the project area and travel to other project sites
Knowledge and understanding of disability issues and approaches, local language and culture and possession of motor bike riding license will be an added advantage.
