Hyatt Regency Arusha is looking for highly qualified and motivated candidate to be
recruited as Front Office Manager. The position holder will report directly to the
Director of Rooms.
Scope and General Purpose of Job:
The Front Office Manager is responsible for the efficient running of the department in line
with Hyatt International’s Corporate Strategies and brand standards, whilst meeting
employee, guest and owner expectations. The Front Office Manager assists the Director of
Rooms in delivering the brand promise by managing the Front Office operations for the
hotel, including, but not limited to, the Front Desk, Front Service (including parking and
the hotel entrance), Communications Centre, Concierge, Drivers, Business Centre and
Regency Club.
Main Duties and responsibilities:
Ensures information on restaurants, hotel facilities and other miscellaneous are
updated periodically.
Assists the Front Office Management Team in efficiently managing the department
according to the established concept statement providing a courteous, professional,
efficient and flexible service at all times
Assists in making sure that all Touches of Hyatt and the Rooms Top 20 have been
implemented.
Responds to the results of the Consumer Audit and ensures that the relevant
changes are implemented.
Ensures that Front Office employees work in a supportive and flexible manner with
other departments, in a spirit of “We work through Teams”.
Works closely with other management personnel in a supportive and flexible
manner, focusing on the overall success of the hotel and the satisfaction of hotel
guests.
Assists to maximize employee productivity through the use of multi-skilling, multitasking
and flexible scheduling to meet the financial goals of the business as well as
the expectations of the guests.
Assists to ensure the punctuality and appearance of all Front Desk employees,
making sure that they wear the correct uniform and maintain a high standard of
personal appearance and hygiene, according to the hotel and department’s
grooming standards
Supports Departmental Trainers through ongoing feedback and assistance at
monthly meetings.
Assist to develop the skills and effectiveness of all Front Desk employees through
the appropriate training, coaching, and/or mentoring.
Coach and counsel employees to reflect Hyatt service standards and procedures

Required qualifications and experience;
Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with people of diverse socioeconomic,
cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds.
Ideally with a university degree or diploma in Hospitality or Tourism management
Minimum 2 years work experience as Assistant Director of Rooms or Front Office
Manager
Good problem solving, administrative and interpersonal skills are a must
Previous hotel pre-opening experience will be an added advantage
Service oriented style with professional presentations skills
Must possess the following strengths: high energy, entrepreneurial spirit,
motivational leader, effective communicator, effective in providing exceptional
customer service and ability to improve the bottom line
Clear concise written and verbal communication skills in English
Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
Must have excellent organizational, interpersonal and administrative skills
Position is open to Tanzanian nationals only
